Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated June 23, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) describes what you may not do with Handfelt and the responsibilities you take on as a sender. It is part of our Terms of Service; capitalized terms have the meaning given there. You are responsible for everything sent through your account. Violations may result in suspension or termination and, where applicable, forfeiture of remaining Credits and reports to authorities.
1. Prohibited content
You may not use the Service to create, send, or store content that:
- is unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading (including scams and false claims);
- is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or incites violence;
- promotes hate or discrimination against protected groups;
- is sexually explicit, or that exploits or endangers minors in any way;
- offers or facilitates illegal goods or services (for example, illegal drugs or weapons);
- infringes or misappropriates anyone’s intellectual property or other rights; or
- contains malware, phishing, or links intended to defraud or compromise recipients.
2. Prohibited practices
You may not:
- send unsolicited bulk mail, or mail to people who have asked you not to contact them;
- use lists obtained or compiled without a lawful basis or required consent;
- impersonate any person or organization, or forge a signature or sender identity;
- use a false or misleading return address or otherwise disguise the origin of mail;
- use the Service for money laundering or to evade sanctions or export controls;
- attempt to access other customers’ accounts or data, or probe or disrupt the Service; or
- copy, resell, reverse engineer, or attempt to derive our handwriting models or technology.
3. Handwriting is not an authentic signature
Our handwriting is machine-generated to look natural. You must not represent that a piece was personally handwritten or signed by a specific individual when it was not, and you must not use the Service for documents that require a genuine human signature — for example, checks, signature-bound contracts, notarized documents, or government forms.
4. Address accuracy and USPS rules
You are responsible for ensuring the addresses you provide are accurate, complete, and lawful, and that your mail complies with USPS rules. Undeliverable or returned mail caused by an address you provided is not refundable, and Postage is still incurred.
5. Recipient consent and your compliance obligations
You represent that you have any consent or other lawful basis required to mail your Recipients, and you are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to your mailings. These may include applicable junk-mail and do-not-mail rules and, where your campaigns involve email, the CAN-SPAM Act (including providing a valid postal address and honoring opt-outs). Handfelt does not check do-not-mail or suppression lists on your behalf.
6. Compliance with law; sanctions and export controls
You must comply with all laws applicable to your use of the Service. You may not use the Service to send mail to, or on behalf of, parties or destinations subject to U.S. economic sanctions or export controls (for example, parties on the U.S. Treasury OFAC lists, or embargoed regions). You are responsible for any industry-specific rules that apply to your communications (for example, in finance, healthcare, or insurance). Handfelt is not your legal adviser.
7. Account abuse and fraud
You may not create multiple accounts to evade limits or suspensions, use a payment method you are not authorized to use, exploit pricing or product bugs, or resell access to the Service. Security testing of the Service requires our prior written permission.
8. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate access at any time, with or without notice, to protect the Service, our customers, recipients, or third parties, or to comply with law. If we terminate your account for an AUP violation, any remaining Credits are forfeited. We may preserve and disclose information and cooperate with USPS, law enforcement, or affected third parties as permitted or required by law.
9. Reporting abuse and third-party complaints
To report misuse of the Service, email support@handfelt.co. If a recipient, USPS, or another party raises a complaint about your mail, we may ask you for evidence of compliance and may suspend the relevant activity while we review.
